The Historical Society was a major sponsor in the bicentennial celebrations in June!

The pictures above are from the  main event June 11 along the Laura Street corridor between James Weldon Johnson Park and Riverfront Plaza. There was be a parade led by Navy Band Southeast, food trucks, a children's art wall and historical exhibits. The Jacksonville Children's Chorus performed "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing," and the Let's Ride Brass Band, Honey Hounds, Love and Theft and Flipturn will provided live music. The celebration will concluded with a fireworks show over the St. Johns River.

As another ongoing part of the celebrations several historical societies  in Jacksonville  put together  a historical exhibit in the JAX international airport Sky Gallery ,  stop on by. and take a more in depth story of Jacksonville.
